Duchesne created composite natural stone panels that are seen nowhere else on the market. Tested and adapted to North American weather conditions, these panels can be used on low and high-rise buildings and are rated non-combustible.
How CP20/NCCP20 panel addresses today's challenges ?
The construction industry is changing to face today’s challenges. Fire resistant construction and durable buildings are needed for a sustainable future. Old construction methods, like masonry have proven to be long lasting, but the cost of maintenance and weight are problematic. Concrete emits large amounts of CO2, they require a lot of maintenance if used as masonry and buildings aren’t adaptable. Wood constructions have demonstrated their flexibility and structural strength, but as exterior cladding wood demands a lot of maintenance and is flammable. Thin stone panels have entered the market but these first technologies that have entered the market have flaws: some delaminate as they do not have materials that have matching expansion coefficients, they’re not adaptive and they are combustible. Our solution addresses all these issues: a light panel system that is environmentally friendly (low CO2 footprint), using long lasting natural stone, adaptable, that requires no maintenance and is fire resistant our NC version is non-combustible.
